Where are you from?

Long Beach, CA

What position do you like playing the most in volleyball?

I love playing defense back row, mainly middle back and act as a libero. You can’t go anywhere without great defense!

Why do you play volleyball

I love playing volleyball because it teaches my body to have a fun workout and strengthens my muscles without having to go to an actual gym and lift weights. But also mainly I love how intense it can be, but you have a small group of players with you striving to score points against your opponents without getting physical (because she/he was in the net).

Who is one volleyball player (athlete) that you are inspired by and why?

Courtney Thompson because she plays very smart. You can tell how she sets her mindset and that is she plays to win.

Why do you coach? What excites you about coaching?

I coach because I want to able to share my skills and experiences to young players that can grow and develop in an active environment. I enjoy helping out especially when I know I can relate and seeing the results is rewarding because it tells me they want to learn.

What do you value most in your players?

I value a lot of things in my players, but the most of all that I pay close attention to are attitude, loyalty, respect, and integrity. If you can’t do these things at your own home and with your parents, you will not do well on the team.

What is your most embarrassing volleyball moment?

I was playing middle back in college and the ball was going out and while I was stumbling backwards to put my hands up and say, “OUT!,” I fell on my butt and tried to rollover and the ball ended up touching my right foot…then game over. The worst, kind of, day of my life actually because it was our rival team.
